  1. Vikings

    Genre: Drama, Action & Adventure

    First Aired: 2013-03-03

Cast: Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Travis Fimmel, Gustaf Skarsgård, Nathan O'Toole

Overview: Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the sagas of Ragnar's band of Viking brothers and his family, as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods. Legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors.
  2. Love this show! Season Two was very good. I loved how it ended :)
  3. Watched both the seasons. Excellent TV, the second one especially. Ragnar Lothbrok is a beast :wideyed:
  4. The trailer for season 3 has been premiered at this year's Comic-Con

  5. Here's an interview with two of the cast Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) along with creator Michael Hirst.

  6. Season 3 starts on 19th February

With the promise of new land from the English, Ragnar leads his people to an uncertain fate on the shores of Wessex. King Ecbert has made many promises and it remains to be seen if he will keep them. But ever the restless wanderer, Ragnar is searching for something more and he finds it in the mythical city of Paris. Rumoured to be impenetrable to outside forces, Ragnar and his band of Norsemen must come together to break down its walls and cement the Vikings legend in history.

  7. Can't wait for this to start again.
  8. Isn't this the most historically accurate tv show / film about Vikings ever made?
  9. They have messed up a few place names, particularly Hedeby and its connection to Lagertha and the dead King. They also messed up the storyline of Sweyn Forkbeard who shouldn't even have had a mention as he wasn't even born at the time yet the wife of the dead King claimed to have killed him in Sweden.

It will be interesting to see which direction they will use when Ragnar dies. I reckon they will go for the snake pit one instead of the Paris church one as it will make better telly. Either could be correct, of course, depending on which historians and myth you believe.

But these are 'minor' issues in what I still reckon is a great series.
