  2. Disney has just sent out a press release revealing the official name of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII.

It's called Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and as you can see from the logo in the teaser poster above, they've gone from the yellow outline of The Force Awakens to a red one, calling back to the red that's been featured in a couple of posters in the prequel trilogy. The Attack of the Clones teaser poster featured red text, as did the poster for Revenge of the Sith:

Of course, red has traditionally been the colour of the Sith in Star Wars lore, so this colour choice sets an ominous tone for Johnson's new film.

And then there's the title itself. The obvious inclination is that it's referring to Luke Skywalker, but if he trains Rey to become a Jedi in this film (as some have speculated), maybe it's referring to her instead?
  3. Great title, works for me.

Red title card = trouble ahoy. Kylo Ren going to punish some folk?
  4. The first teaser trailer has been unleashed and I couldn't be happier and more excited with what I'm seeing!

Also revealed is this wonderfully designed poster for the film featuring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Daisy Ridley as Rey.

  6. Well that's gotten me suitably excited.
  7. Love the poster. Instant classic.

The trailer is a bit meh, if I'm being honest, doesn't have the drama the TFA trailers had...but looks great, and doesn't reveal much, which is what you want.

I also see The Empire Strikes Back being mirrored, which I hope we'd get away from, it has the Yoda-Luke thing replicated by Luke-Rey, it has the AT-AT's incoming on the barren planet, it has the Rey confronting someone/something like Luke did in The Empire Strikes Back...hopefully something original comes out of it.

  8. Does not give much away, but I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully now they have set the scene, they will get going with some original story.
  9. The trailer looks great, wish December was a lot closer now.
  10. I like a minimalist trailer. Save the entire story and ending for the film.

Looking forward to this one :)
