    Genre: Action, Science Fiction

Plot: Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped into combat. But he awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again... and again - as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

  2. This looks like it has a nice blend between a cool concept, decent action and great visuals.

I saw the marketing tagline "A summer blockbuster... with brains" and cringed. Usually that means it's a bog standard blockbuster with an attempted "intellectual" twist at the end. But from the brief summaries of reviews I've read, it really does seem to be decent. Guess I'll check it out!
  3. Very impressed with this. It's pretty much the perfect popcorn munching blockbuster. The central plot is pretty silly, but its handled in a smart and creative way. And its visually stunning. Felt like a cross between Starship Troopers, the Matrix and Groundhog Day.
  4. Went to see this at the weekend.

Highly enjoyable, ticks along at a decent pace for the most part, a little flat towards the end and I am still trying to figure out if I can make sense of the ending

Groundhog Day with Guns isn't an inaccurate description

Cruise and Blunt are both good in this
  5. I saw this on Thursday - have always been a sucker for those Groundhog Day-type scenarios (Supernatural did a wonderful episode like it before!) so it was right up my street.

As mentioned previously, it was so good to see Cruise play someone who isn't this uber-soldier, like he has been in his last movie roles. Sure he eventually morphs into one (not a spoiler - look at the trailer and watch what he does!) but you can really see the progression from one to the other.
  6. I wasn't too sure about this one but decided to go and see it based on what others had told me....but after watching it I can say it was very good. Yes the ending was by the numbers but it wasn't enough to ruin the enjoyment of the film.
  7. This was one of the most enjoyable films to watch I've seen in recent years. As a sci-fi action flick I thought it was pretty much flawless.

  8. It was really good, I'm really looking forward to seeing it again on blu ray
  9. Watched this again last night, really enjoy the sci fi movies Cruise has been starring in.
  10. I watched this yesterday, one of the best films I've seen in a while! The story is very good
